Animated John Wick Prequel Film in the Works Starring Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is set to reprise his role as John Wick in an upcoming animated prequel film, according to Lionsgate. This new installment will provide a glimpse into John Wick's life before the events of the first film, focusing on his completion of the Impossible Task to free himself from his allegiance to the High Table and reunite with Helen.

The movie will be produced by the same team behind the John Wick movies, including Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, and Point Grey. Shannon Tindle, an Emmy Award-winning director and producer, will be at the helm of the project, alongside screenwriting duo Ryan and Kaz Firpo, who have worked on Marvel's Eternals. Adam Fogelson, a representative from Lionsgate, expressed excitement about the potential of the animated film, stating that both the animation and the world of John Wick offer endless story possibilities.

The specific animation studio responsible for bringing the film to life remains undisclosed at this time. Despite the fourth movie concluding on a satisfying note, there are plans for a fifth installment, with Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves reportedly having an exciting concept in mind. Additionally, Keanu Reeves is also set to star in a John Wick video game, developed by Saber Interactive, which will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S, and PC.
