‘Why Nigerians are reluctant to embrace CNG’ – Otti identifies key barriers

Abia State Governor Alex Otti addressed tertiary students in the state, urging them to embrace strong leadership qualities, integrity, discipline, and excellence as essential values for building a prosperous New Abia. During the opening ceremony of the 2026 Abia State Tertiary Education Sports Fiesta and the unveiling of the New Abia Crusaders Club at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Otti emphasized that the future of the state rests on the character and contributions of its young people.

He described the fiesta as a celebration of youthful energy, intellectual excellence, creativity, and the potential of young people to contribute to the state's development. The governor's administration recognizes education as a crucial investment in Abia’s future and aims to produce graduates who are problem-solvers, innovators, and job creators.

The newly unveiled New Abia Crusaders Club serves as a platform for fostering leadership, responsible citizenship, and community service among students. Otti encouraged the club's leadership to organize mentorship programs, innovation competitions, environmental initiatives, and community development projects. He emphasized that leadership begins with individual choices and positive influence in communities.

Otti assured that his administration will continue to prioritize young people in its development agenda by expanding access to quality education, promoting digital skills, and creating employment opportunities.
