Abia State Governor Alex Otti has called on tertiary students in the state to embrace good leadership, integrity, discipline, and excellence as essential values for building a prosperous New Abia. During the opening ceremony of the 2026 Abia State Tertiary Education Sports Fiesta and the unveiling of the New Abia Crusaders Club at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Otti emphasized that the future of the state hinges on the quality of character and contributions of its young people.

The governor described the fiesta as a platform to celebrate youthful energy, intellectual excellence, and creativity, stating that his administration views education as a crucial investment in the future of Abia and aims to produce graduates who are not just certificate holders but problem-solvers, innovators, and job creators.
