Teacher accused of sexual assault

A male teacher at a Tamil primary school in Pahang has been accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old pupil by forcing the boy to perform oral sex on him as punishment for not completing his homework. The alleged abuse came to light after the boy disclosed the incidents to his father, who lodged a police report on Oct 28. The suspect was arrested on Oct 29 and remanded for four days, but was later released on bail pending medical reports involving the victim.

Police have received 10 reports lodged by non-governmental organisations, but have not received any reports from other alleged victims. The investigation is being conducted by Jerantut police under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, and the case will be referred to the Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division.
