The Ondo State Police Command has discovered a suspected counterfeit currency production site in Odigbo Local Government Area, arresting one suspect and seizing three bags of suspected fake US dollars. The operation occurred on October 29 at Kiniso Village, following a complaint from a man who allegedly received counterfeit dollars during a currency exchange transaction.
The suspect, Peter Desmond, was apprehended, while other occupants managed to flee. The arrested individual provided valuable information to assist the investigation. State Police Commissioner CP Felix Ohagwu ordered an intensified investigation to identify and arrest others involved in the operation. Residents are advised to authenticate foreign currencies before engaging in financial transactions and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
