Hyundai Motor to showcase hydrogen technologies at local expo

Hyundai Motor Group is set to exhibit its hydrogen technologies at the World Hydrogen Expo 2026, which takes place from Wednesday to Friday in Goyang, northwest of Seoul, according to a statement released on Wednesday. The company aims to foster collaboration with global partners through this showcase. The exhibition will highlight Hyundai's advancements in hydrogen production, mobility solutions, and an ecosystem for hydrogen utilization.

Among the technologies on display will be Hyundai's proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis plant technology and a Waste-to-Hydrogen (W2H) model. The W2H model converts waste into hydrogen, offering a potential solution for sustainable hydrogen generation. Furthermore, Hyundai will showcase various hydrogen-powered mobility solutions, including the 2027 NEXO SUV, commercial vehicles, and rail transport applications.

A standout feature will be the unveiling of a fuel cell system designed to enhance durability for long-distance commercial transport, marking Hyundai's first public demonstration of this technology.

In terms of rail transport, Hyundai will present a model of a hydrogen-powered locomotive and a flat-type fuel cell module. These exhibits demonstrate Hyundai's commitment to expanding its hydrogen technology portfolio and fostering partnerships with industry leaders to drive the adoption of hydrogen solutions across different sectors.
