2027: NDC inaugurates presidential campaign council in Anambra

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Anambra State Chapter, has officially launched its newly formed Obi/Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections. The inauguration took place at the King David Hotel in Awka, the state capital, on Wednesday. This council will play a key role in mobilizing grassroots support, strengthening party structures, and coordinating campaign activities across the state's 21 Local Government Areas.

Anambra State NDC Chairman, Ikem Uzoezie, emphasized that the council's primary responsibility will be to manage and execute day-to-day campaign activities. Uzoezie expressed confidence in the council's ability to deliver a total victory for the party's presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and other candidates vying for senatorial, national, and state houses of assembly seats.

He urged council members to work diligently towards securing a 98% vote share for the NDC in Anambra State. Ibezi, the State Coordinator, highlighted Obi's rising popularity, comparing it to that of revered figures Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Dr. Michael Okpara. He stated that the NDC's socioeconomic philosophy is resonating with voters across various demographics and locations.

The council comprises several key officers, including a Deputy State Coordinator and a Campaign Secretary, as well as directorates for various departments such as media and publicity, finance, logistics, women and youth mobilization, security, grassroots mobilization, election monitoring, and vote protection.
