VIDEO: Poll Dancing: Watch Politically Aweh’s elections comedy special before you vote
KG Mokgadi wants to be your mayor. That’s how bad things have got. In Poll Dancing, Politically Aweh’s live elections comedy special, you can learn everything you need to know before 4 November: how your ballot works, who’s funding the parties, what the polls say, and one deeply regrettable AI pole dance.
KG Mokgadi is seeking the mayoral position in Cape Town for the upcoming local elections on November 4th. In his live elections comedy special, "Poll Dancing," Politically Aweh offers a humorous take on the voting process, what to expect, and how to participate. The show was filmed at the Homecoming Centre in District Six on October 21st, featuring a sold-out crowd and comedians Yaaseen Barnes, Dillan Oliphant, and Lindy Johnson.
KG and his co-hosts, Zoë Human and Stephen Horn, discussed the fundraising methods of political parties, the impact of disinformation on young voters, and the housing crisis in Cape Town. As for the mayoral race, Cape Town's housing crisis has led to calls for rent control, but Hill-Lewis has rejected the idea, suggesting only short-term rentals in the owner's primary home.
KG also announced his own mayoral campaign, promising to address the service delivery crisis by eliminating it entirely. It is essential for voters to stay informed and involved in the democratic process, as suggested by KG.
