Johnny Depp on His One Condition to Return as Jack Sparrow for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’

Johnny Depp may reprise his role as Jack Sparrow in a forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie, according to a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. Despite previously vowing never to work with Disney again, Depp expressed interest in concluding the franchise on a positive note. He stated that his primary goal was to ensure the series concluded effectively.

Depp revealed that he would be willing to collaborate with producer Jerry Bruckheimer if the conditions were right. Depp's softened stance has been noted for some time, as he was previously reluctant to return even for a massive sum. A screenplay is currently in the works, and Bruckheimer hopes to secure a deal with Depp. This is the first time Depp has publicly mentioned his openness to the idea since his legal dispute with Amber Heard in 2023.

Disney had also been developing a new Pirates movie with Margot Robbie, but progress on that project has been limited. Depp has not been involved in many high-profile roles since his legal battle with Heard and was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen in the final film of the trilogy. Depp is currently set to star in A Christmas Carol, titled Ebenezer, which is scheduled for release on November 13. It remains to be seen if Jack Sparrow will once again sail the high seas.
