Jais cari maklumat pengendali, pemilik premis sembelih ayam tak patuh syarak

Lately, the Islamic Affairs Department of Selangor (JAIS) has been receiving updated information from district and land offices regarding the real owner of a poultry farm in Puchong, which is suspected of not adhering to Islamic law. According to JAIS officer Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad, the premises are believed to be controlled by more than one company or entity, as inferred from the information obtained from the detained individual.

"The raided premises lacked any signs or indications of business information or company names that could be consulted about the activities taking place at the premises." He added that JAIS has yet to identify the individual or company involved in this matter and will provide clarification once reliable information is obtained, sources reported.

On October 30th, during a raid, 12 individuals allegedly engaged in non-compliant slaughter of poultry were found. Mohd Shahzihan confirmed that the slaughter took place after the birds died using high-voltage electric shock, which is against Islamic law. Furthermore, he verified that the premises lacked any records of a halal certification application and did not hold the Malaysia Halal Certification Card (SPHM).

Records also show that the Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MUIS) had never issued a license for the slaughtering conducted at the premises. This case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Trading (Definition of Halal) Order 2011 and Section 121F of the Selangor Administration of Religion Act 2003. JAIS urges all food providers, restaurant owners, and the Muslim community to obtain poultry from certified suppliers and halal slaughterhouses according to the applicable laws.
