Jais cari maklumat pengendali, pemilik premis sembelih ayam tak patuh syarak

The Islamic Religious Council of Selangor (JAIS) is now receiving further information from local district and land offices regarding the true owner of a poultry slaughterhouse premises in Puchong that were raided last Friday for allegedly violating Islamic law. Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad, the JAIS officer in charge, stated that the premises was believed to be managed by more than one company or entity, based on information obtained from the detained individual.

"During the raid on October 30, 12 individuals were believed to be Bangladeshi and Pakistani workers carrying out non-Islamic slaughter of chickens. According to him, the slaughter took place after the chickens died, using an electrocution process that exceeded the allowable voltage. Meanwhile, he confirmed that the premises had no records to reference a halal certification application or the Malaysia Halal Certification Stamp (SPHM).

"Records at JAIS also show that the Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MAIS) never issued a license for the slaughter conducted at the premises," he added. The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Trading (Definition of Halal) Order 2011 and Section 121F of the Selangor Islamic Administration Enactment 2003. JAIS urges all food suppliers, restaurant owners, and the Islamic community to obtain chicken from certified suppliers and halal-certified slaughterhouses in accordance with the governing laws.
