Iraola urges Liverpool to ‘kill’ Fenerbahce’s hostile atmosphere
The Spaniard wants the Reds to cut off the connection between Fenerbahce's players and their passionate fans by taking the sting out of Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
Andoni Iraola, the new Liverpool manager, has called on his team to "kill" the hostile atmosphere generated by Fenerbahce's passionate fans during their upcoming Champions League match in Istanbul. The Spaniard acknowledged that playing in Turkey will be challenging, but he believes his team can rise to the occasion and disrupt Fenerbahce's momentum.
Iraola emphasized the importance of mental readiness, given the significant pressure of facing the Turkish club in such an unwelcoming environment. Despite Liverpool's recent struggles, including a shotless home defeat against Arsenal, Iraola expressed satisfaction with various aspects of the team's performance and highlighted areas for improvement, such as attacking the box.
The match presents an opportunity for Liverpool to secure 12 points and climb into the top eight of the league table.
