2027: PDP chairman predicts victory for party’s candidates

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammed, has voiced confidence that the party's candidates will secure victories in all elective positions during the 2027 general elections. This optimistic forecast was made at a meeting of the National Working Committee with state chairmen in Abuja, where Mohammed emphasized adherence to the party's constitution and established procedures, including the conduct of caucuses and expanded National Executive Committee meetings.

The PDP is currently grappling with internal crises and divisions that have weakened its political standing and electoral prospects. The recent support expressed by party National Leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid has further fueled uncertainty about the PDP's chances and the prospects of its candidates in the upcoming elections.

Despite these challenges, Mohammed pledged the party's commitment to winning the 2027 elections and contributing to Nigeria's progress. He commended the state chairmen for the successful nomination of candidates across the 36 states and assured the party's National Working Committee of their readiness to collaborate in securing electoral victory.
