On Monday’s episode of "The View," Whoopi Goldberg paid tribute to her former co-star and friend, Patrick Stewart, describing him as "irreplaceable." Goldberg expressed her admiration for Stewart's versatility as an actor, noting that he could excel in drama, science fiction, comedy, and even Shakespeare. She recalled how Stewart officially asked her to join the cast of "Star Trek: Picard" in 2020, an invitation she gladly accepted.
The pair first worked together in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" as Guinan and Captain Jean-Luc Picard, respectively. Goldberg reminisced about their time together, stating, "There was nobody like him... But he's up with a lot of great people, so I know he's running around having fun." Stewart passed away last Wednesday after a brief battle with Alzheimer's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
