Ukrzaliznytsia receives 6 new passenger cars to operate on Kharkiv-Przemysl route – Infrastructure Ministry

Ukrainian Railways JSC (Ukrzaliznytsia) has acquired six newly manufactured passenger cars to operate on the Kharkiv-Przemysl railway line, announced Infrastructure Minister Mykola Kalashnyk. The minister emphasized the ongoing modernization of the railway, stating that despite persistent Russian attacks, it is crucial to enhance passenger comfort and bolster rail connections' resilience during wartime.

The new vehicles are equipped with battery systems to maintain lighting, air conditioning, and other systems during power outages. Since the start of the year, Ukrzaliznytsia has received 44 new passenger cars, with an additional 16 expected by year-end. The budget funds these purchases, according to the ministry.

Kalashnyk commended the train crew, led by Tetiana Sizova, responsible for the Kharkiv-Przemysl route. Since autumn, they have conducted 30 evacuations, and Sizova led more than 50 civilian evacuations in 2022 from Zaporizhia and Pokrovsk. The minister highlighted the crew's dedication to passengers with disabilities, noting they assist wheelchair users, visually impaired individuals, and others requiring additional support.

Ukrzaliznytsia continues to renew its rolling stock, repair damaged infrastructure, and ensure dependable rail services.
