Tribe TechFest 2026 connects over 400 entrepreneurs, investors in Doha

Doha recently hosted Tribe TechFest 2026, a gathering that united over 400 entrepreneurs, investors, and technology professionals. Organized by Builders Tribe, the event aimed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration between Qatar, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Africa.

The conference took place at Nestwork Grand Hamad, Alfardan Centre, under the theme "Where the GCC and Africa's Boldest Builders Come to Connect, Play, and Grow." It provided a platform for entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, form strategic partnerships, access industry expertise, and explore business opportunities across regional and international markets.

A key feature of the event was the TechFest Consultation Hub, or Tech Wasta, which connected startups with experienced business leaders, investors, and specialists. Out of 80 applications, 12 startups were selected for dedicated consultations aimed at addressing their business challenges and facilitating connections with potential partners.

Several participating startups secured introductions to stakeholders from major organizations such as QatarEnergy, Kahramaa, and Qatar Foundation, leading to potential pilot projects and business collaborations.

Experts from various fields, including venture capital, aviation, education, technology, energy, business strategy, and organizational development, participated in the consultation program. Notable speakers included Khalid Al-Mohannadi, Haitham Al-Haidari, Youssef El-Moukhtar, Tasiyiwa Katie Mapondera, Haider Khan, Amber Acosta, and Dr. Hanan El Basha.

Discussions centered on the growing influence of artificial intelligence on entrepreneurship, with sessions such as "Average Is Not Good Enough: Staying Ahead in the Age of AI" and "Building an AI-Native Company." Speakers also addressed digital marketing, brand positioning, online visibility, and sustainable business growth.

Co-Founder of Builders Tribe, Ajiri Omafokpe, emphasized the event's goal of building a vibrant community where founders could connect with the right people, share knowledge, and explore opportunities that would accelerate their business growth. She noted that the event aimed to bridge entrepreneurial communities across the GCC and Africa, fostering a stronger, more connected, and collaborative startup ecosystem.

Participants came from countries including Qatar, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Sudan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Egypt, reflecting the event's ambition to connect entrepreneurial communities across different markets. Attendees rated their overall experience an average of 4.9 out of five, and the event generated over 150,000 social media impressions.

Looking ahead, Builders Tribe plans to strengthen its engagement with entrepreneurs through additional initiatives, including a founder delegation to Web Summit Qatar 2027 and the continuation of the 5,000 Founders Series and TechForward Talks.
