Soldier Assaulted By Mother, Brother & Relatives Over Property Dispute In Punjab

A soldier on leave allegedly suffered an assault from his mother, brother, and relatives due to a property dispute in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The soldier's wife captured the incident on video, which has since been widely shared on social media. The altercation occurred in Sainpur Abbal Khair village of Gurdaspur. Simmi Saini, the soldier's wife, stated that her husband, Wazir Singh, had established a shop and registered its ownership in his name.

She explained that his family members called him towards the shop to address a property dispute after his brothers allegedly trespassed onto his agricultural land. However, the meeting took a violent turn when Singh's relatives reportedly attacked him upon his exit from his vehicle. Saini hurried to the scene upon learning about the assault, but she too became a target of the aggressors.

She managed to document the confrontation via her phone. According to Saini, Singh was unconscious when he was taken to the Government Hospital in Gurdaspur. She further accused the on-duty doctor of providing inadequate medical care under pressure from the relatives who had assaulted her husband. Concerned for his safety, she brought him home, where he is currently recovering.

She also alleged that the family continues to face threats from the accused relatives, compelling them to remain indoors. Moreover, she claimed that the relatives had locked up another property purchased by her with their own locks. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jai Singh, leading the investigation, confirmed that the injured soldier's account had been documented.

He highlighted that the investigation is progressing and that appropriate legal proceedings would be initiated against those responsible.
