Police are currently probing a sexual assault case involving a ride share driver in downtown Toronto on Halloween night. A woman allegedly entered a ride share vehicle around 10 p.m. in the Yonge-Church corridor. According to police, the victim was seated in the front of the car and was sexually assaulted by the driver. Upon reaching their destination, the driver allegedly prevented the victim from leaving the vehicle and continued to sexually assault her.
The victim managed to escape the car but left her purse behind. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Sahib Brar from Brampton, was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault and forcible confinement. He is set to appear in court on November 2. Police suspect there could be additional victims and urge anyone with information to reach out to the authorities.
