PN tak akan meterai CSA, kata Takiyuddin

Perikatan Nasional (PN) will not endorse the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) taken by six Bersatu MPs, said PN Deputy Chief Takiyuddin Hassan. The action by Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin's team does not represent the main party's stance or decision, according to Takiyuddin. He emphasized that Muhyiddin's move has sidelined PN as a coalition and opposition bloc.

Takiyuddin further stated that the CSA is an individual choice for the involved MPs and does not represent PN's official opinion. Only those MPs involved in the CSA are from a section not actively aligned with PN, including the Bersatu faction that left the party and Muda. Consequently, PN did not participate in the negotiations and endorsement of the CSA.

Six Bersatu MPs recently endorsed the CSA, demanding two major reforms from the government in exchange for their support. They aim for a limited tenure for the Prime Minister's post and the roles of the Attorney-General and the Solicitor-General before the current term ends. In response, the six MPs will back the 2027 Budget. Regarding PN's Melaka constituency, Takiyuddin mentioned that the PN charter permits component parties to use their respective logos, but the official confirmation of Bersatu's logo use with PN has not been made. He clarified that without official confirmation, PN cannot provide official endorsement.
