Mumbai: Oshiwara’s Mogra Nala Bridge To Be Demolished And Rebuilt; Here Are The Traffic Curbs Announced

The Mumbai Traffic Police department has announced traffic restrictions and diversions in Oshiwara as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation prepares to demolish and rebuild the Mogra Nala bridge. The bridge, which connects SAB TV Road with Link Road, will be closed for vehicles in both directions until May 31, 2027. The authorities confirmed that the current bridge has deteriorated and needs to be replaced at the same location by the municipal corporation.

BMC has allocated ₹10.25 crore for the demolition and reconstruction of the Mogra Nala vehicular bridge. The lowest bidder quoted a price that is 24.39% lower than the initial estimate. An official notification from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic, Western Suburbs) Ajit Borhade stated that all types of vehicles will be barred from using the bridge in both directions until its reconstruction is complete.

The notification also provides alternative routes for light vehicles in the area. For southbound light vehicles on SAB TV Road (Pramod Navalkar Marg), drivers must take the first left from Hotel Empire and then turn right, proceeding via Hotel Kalinga. Northbound light vehicles on New Link Road should make a left turn from Hotel Kalinga and then make another left or right turn from Hotel Empire, after which they can continue on Lokhandwala Complex Road.
