Lamine Yamal, Raphinha both score a brace as Barcelona thump Alaves

Lamine Yamal and Raphinha each scored twice as Barcelona secured a dominant 6-1 victory over Alaves, returning to the top of La Liga following a loss to Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappe contributed two goals for Real Madrid, which broke Barcelona's nine-game winning streak at Camp Nou. However, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal each netted two goals for Barcelona, along with goals from Anthony Gordon and Fermin Lopez.

Raphinha opened the scoring in the eighth minute, tapping in a pass from Lopez. Lopez then scored the second goal of the match, finishing a play created by Lopez and converted by Raphinha. The duo combined again for the third goal of the match, while Lamine Yamal added a fourth goal just before halftime with a perfectly executed half-volley.

Lamine Yamal, who was named the third best men's player in the world in the Ballon d'Or awards, doubled his tally with another cheeky chip over the goalkeeper. Substitute Anthony Gordon scored his second goal of the match 17 minutes later. Raphinha has now scored 15 league goals this season, leading the league with four more goals than Mbappe, who has 11.

Lamine Yamal is third with 10 goals. Alaves managed to score a consolation goal with a late strike from Mariano Diaz, who took advantage of a loose pass from Rodri to score past Joan Garcia.
