Lahore Starts Sealing Wedding Halls Without Parking

The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has initiated a crackdown on wedding halls and marquees without proper parking facilities. In the first phase, six venues were sealed and three individuals were arrested. The operation targeted locations in the Aziz Bhatti and Shalimar areas, focusing on establishments allowing vehicles to park illegally on green belts and service roads.

The crackdown began with an operation conducted along Raj Bahar Road, where six wedding halls, including Al Khalid, Abdullah, Al Fateh One, Al Fateh Two, Babul Wedding Hall, and Shalimar Marquee, were sealed. Authorities filed a complaint with the Baghbanpura Police Station regarding illegal parking on green belts. Three individuals involved in the violations were apprehended.

Municipal Officer (Regulation) Jawad Ul Hassan Gondal stated that this operation was carried out based on instructions from the Administrator and Chief Officer. Gondal warned that the crackdown would persist, with strict actions, including further sealing, against any wedding halls or marquees found utilizing green belts and service roads for parking purposes.
