Kano Assembly extends suspension of three LG chairmen

The Kano State House of Assembly has decided to prolong the suspension of three Local Government chairmen for an additional three months. This decision was announced in a recent statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Kamaluddeen Shawai. The House also extended the term of an ad hoc committee tasked with investigating allegations against the three chairmen by the same duration.

The initial three-month period for the committee to carry out a comprehensive investigation and submit its findings has now been extended to allow for a thorough examination of the complaints and a final report submission within the next three months. The three affected chairmen are Bello Abdullahi Gadanya from Bagwai, Dr Alhassan Salisu from Bebeji, and Abubakar Mustapha from Rogo.

They were suspended following allegations of financial mismanagement, abuse of authority, and other forms of misconduct. The Assembly's statement emphasized that the extension aims to ensure the committee can complete its investigation and present its report to the House in a timely manner.
