INEC trains Yobe stakeholders on electoral risk management ahead of 2027 elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held an Electoral Risk Management (ERM) workshop in Yobe State to prepare for the 2027 general elections. The event, which took place on Monday, gathered key stakeholders including security personnel, National Orientation Agency (NOA) officials, media professionals, and Electoral Officers from all 17 local government areas of the state.

INEC's Resident Electoral Commissioner for Yobe, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Ma aji, emphasized the importance of the participants as critical actors in the electoral process. He urged them to identify risks unique to Yobe and devise long-term strategies to mitigate them before the polls. Ma aji highlighted the necessity of proactive planning, effective collaboration, and swift responses to emerging electoral threats.

The workshop aimed to deepen the participants' understanding of electoral risk management, identify potential risks, improve early warning and response systems, bolster collaboration, and support evidence-based planning for a credible election. The National Orientation Agency (NOA) also participated, reaffirming its commitment as a strategic partner of INEC.

The agency pledged to continue supporting INEC through public sensitisation, social mobilisation, and campaigns to prevent actions that could undermine peaceful elections.

This training is part of INEC's continuous efforts to ensure a peaceful, credible, and smooth 2027 general election in Yobe State.
