Addie Warncke, the Atlanta-born, New York-based musician behind the alt-rock project Computerwife, is set to release her new album Born From A Wish this week. Early singles Nobody, Foreverrr, and You Didn't Know have already given fans a taste of what to expect. In this final preview, Warncke introduces the warped 90s-indebted rocker Hammered.
She explains that the song was initially self-deprecating, addressing her own confusion in life. However, as she observed others adapting their personalities to different social environments, the tone of the song shifted, reflecting her disappointment and frustration. Warncke elaborates that the various experiences and emotions resulting from this transformation were too complex to verbalize, culminating in the creation of this single piece.
Listen to Hammered below. The album will be available for purchase on November 6 via Danger Collective.
