CM inaugurates Rs250m Sindhi Muslim Food Walk

Karachi's Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated a Rs250 million Sindhi Muslim Food Walk in Chanesar Town on Sunday evening. The project aims to transform the commercial and food destination into a more organized, attractive, and pedestrian-friendly public space. Shah emphasized the importance of regular maintenance, waste management, pedestrian safety, and traffic management to keep the Food Walk appealing and functional.

The urban improvement project seeks to promote food and cultural tourism, benefiting local businesses, enhancing civic infrastructure, and providing a better environment for residents and visitors to enjoy the city's culinary culture. During the inauguration, Shah interacted with restaurant owners, customers, and members of the public, posing for selfies and engaging with the community.

The project involves replacing sewerage lines, installing underground electrical cabling, removing overhead wires, rehabilitating roads and pedestrian footpaths, installing streetlights, bollard lights, and decorative lighting, as well as planting and landscaping. Shah praised the Chanesar Town Municipal Corporation Chairman Farhan Ghani, the municipal commissioner, engineers, contractors, and workers for their contributions to the project's completion.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah highlighted Karachi's potential for food and cultural tourism, stating that initiatives like the Sindhi Muslim Food Walk could help unlock this potential by generating employment, attracting private investment, and strengthening economic activity at the neighbourhood level.
