Barca equal to PSG, Real Madrid, insists Gordon
Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon insisted Monday his team are not below the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, despite recent defeats by both sides.Hansi Flick's side were unbeaten until facing European champions PSG on October 20, but lost 4-2 in Paris before a 2-1 Clasico defeat at home on October 25 by Madrid.
Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon has stated that his team are not inferior to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, despite recent losses to both clubs. The Spanish champions, who have not won the Champions League since 2015, suffered a 4-2 defeat to PSG on October 20 and a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid at home on October 25. Gordon told reporters, "I don t think they re above (us)."
He explained that Barcelona struggled in the PSG match due to a lack of rest, as the Paris side rested their entire squad for the weekend. Gordon believes Barcelona deserved to win the Clasico, adding that his team dominated possession, created better chances, and played more effectively than Real Madrid. Despite these assertions, Barcelona will face English Premier League side Aston Villa in their next Champions League match on Tuesday, aiming to regain momentum.
