The Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the penultimate stage of the DP World Tour, is set to take place from November 5-8 at Yas Links on Yas Island. The tournament features a star-studded lineup, including defending champion Aaron Rai and former winners Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton. Currently, Rory McIlroy is third in the Race to Dubai standings with 3,144.9 points, trailing leader Eugenio Chacarra by 300 points and Patrick Reed by 670 points.
McIlroy needs to secure a win to potentially close the gap on Chacarra, while Reed aims to leapfrog Chacarra if successful. The top 70 players in the Race to Dubai rankings will compete, with the field later reduced to 50 for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. The winner of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship will earn $1.53 million, with general admission free for the first two days.
