Tinubu’s pledge on electricity must be considered in full context- APC Campaign Council

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has recently established a 3,000-member campaign council for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. This figure exceeds the number of individuals named for President Bola Tinubu's presidential campaign council for the same elections. Initially, the APC had announced a 108-member list; however, after a review and subsequent updates, the official campaign council comprised 223 members.

Upon his inauguration as the chairperson of the APC campaign council in Adamawa, Fintiri instructed all newly appointed committees to submit comprehensive work plans to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government by November 6, 2026. This directive was announced in a press release following the official ceremony and was signed by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

The announcement was made by Awwal Tukur, the Secretary of the Campaign Council and Secretary to the State Government, who stated that submitting the plans in advance would allow the council to review, harmonize, and approve the proposals promptly, enabling efficient implementation.

Fintiri underscored the urgency of the campaign council's activities, urging the committees to begin their work without delay as the 2027 general elections approach. He emphasized the importance of a proactive, strategic, and result-oriented approach in preparing their submissions. The work plans, as outlined in the statement, are required to include detailed timelines, budget estimates, and implementation strategies focusing on grassroots mobilization, media engagement, and stakeholder inclusion, all aligned with the party's election objectives.

The governor further urged all committee chairmen and secretaries to take the directive seriously and ensure that their submissions reach the designated office before the deadline.
