Manchester United are monitoring Barcelona's interest in left-back Alejandro Balde, who could leave the Catalan club in January. If Balde departs, United might capitalize on the opportunity to sign Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United. Liverpool is considering Nottingham Forest's 24-year-old Brazil right-back Murillo and Borussia Dortmund's 26-year-old Germany center-back Nico Schlotterbeck as potential replacements for their 35-year-old Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is reportedly interested in Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as a future back-up to Thibaut Courtois.
