Man Utd eye Barcelona's Balde - Monday's gossip
Alejandro Balde could leave Barcelona, sparking interest from Manchester United, Liverpool shortlist want Murillo and Nico Schlotterbeck, Real Madrid eye Bart Verbruggen, plus more.
Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Barcelona's left-back Alejandro Balde, 23, according to recent reports. Balde is a Spain international defender who could be set for a January transfer. The move would leave a vacancy for Barcelona to potentially sign 28-year-old Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are in the running to replace 35-year-old Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk, who is nearing the end of his career. The Reds have shortlisted Nottingham Forest's Murillo, 24, and Borussia Dortmund's Schlotterbeck, 26, as potential replacements. On the other hand, Manchester United are considering selling midfielder Bruno Fernandes, 32, rather than allowing him to leave for free when his contract expires next summer.
Additionally, Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, 24, as a future backup for Thibaut Courtois, 34.
