Gachagua to ODM: Ruto is just conning you

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has warned ODM supporters against trusting President William Ruto, accusing him of using the party’s support to advance his political interests ahead of the 2027 General Election. Gachagua stated that Ruto was pretending to be ODM’s friend to win votes, drawing a comparison with his relationship with the Kikuyu community, which he claimed the President had previously deceived.

The former Deputy President also questioned the financing of the Rironi-Mau Summit highway, claiming that Chinese contractors had declined to fund the project using their own resources, and that Ksh30 billion from workers’ pension savings had already been channelled to two Chinese companies undertaking the works.
