Teen, 14, arrested for throwing stone that shattered KTMB train window in Arau

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in Arau for throwing a stone that shattered a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) train window on Thursday, according to Sinar Harian. The suspect, a secondary school student, admitted to the incident while under investigation by the Arau district Criminal Investigation Division and the Arau police station task force.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had deliberately thrown the stone while hanging out with four friends at the Kampung Jelempok motorcycle overpass. However, only the suspect threw the stone, and the other four boys merely watched, according to Superintendent Ahmad Mohsin Md Rodi.

The incident was reported to the Arau police station on October 30 at 12:30pm, stating that the train was traveling from Arau Station towards Alor Setar when the window shattered. The police seized a Vivo Y05 mobile phone with a SIM card, as well as a stone believed to be connected to the case during the arrest. The 14-year-old suspect, who has no prior criminal record, is currently held at the Kangar police station to aid the ongoing investigation.
