It: Welcome to Derry Drops Surprise Halloween Episode

HBO has released a surprise Halloween episode of It: Welcome to Derry titled "A Story of Derry." This 30-minute special is set hundreds of years before the events of Season 1, allowing viewers to explore the origins of IT in Derry without taking time away from trick-or-treating or party preparations. The episode follows three youngsters entering the Western Wood, where they encounter a terrifying ancient spirit.

Despite the short runtime, fans are excited to see new content as Season 1 was released just one year ago, and Season 2 is set to premiere later in 2027 at the earliest. Rumors of a bonus episode had circulated in the weeks leading up to the actual announcement, with many fans doubting its authenticity but ultimately pleased with the surprise.
