Gattuso Opens up on Lazio January Window: “I Might Lock the Door!”

Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso has expressed his intention to safeguard his squad's unity until the conclusion of the season, as he prepares for the January transfer window. Lazio currently leads the Serie A standings, sharing the top spot with Inter Milan, after winning eight of their first nine league matches. Ahead of their upcoming match against Cagliari, Gattuso held a press conference to discuss the team's approach to the new window.

The 48-year-old coach emphasized the importance of ensuring his players have fully recovered from their midweek fixture before facing Cagliari. He mentioned that fitness tests conducted on Tuesday showed promising results, indicating that the players are in good shape. Gattuso was also cautious about Cagliari's challenging characteristics, highlighting the team's strong defensive structure and ability to launch effective counterattacks.

Despite being on top of the league, Gattuso stressed the significance of maintaining their current momentum and not becoming complacent. He stressed the need for continued hard work and discipline, in order to secure 40 points as their initial target before aiming for higher achievements. Gattuso also expressed satisfaction with the team's mentality, praising their unity and work ethic as the "secret weapon" that has contributed to their early success.
