Apple unveiled its HomeView system update 27.2, which will precede the official launch of the device on November 13. The update introduces the default wallpapers for the upcoming smart home hub, available in both light and dark versions. In a noteworthy decision, Apple released HomeView 27.2 (build 24V514), the operating system that will control the new device, which is currently available for pre-order ahead of its upcoming launch.

The update features 20 wallpapers, each with a 1:1 aspect ratio, designed to perfectly match the device's dimensions. However, users can easily resize these wallpapers to fit their specific screen. Apple has long provided built-in features for customizing wallpapers on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, including options to modify how images are displayed. The update also includes a preview of the HomeView's face customization interface, shared by developer Guilherme Rambo.

Interestingly, the system update also contains a hidden HomeView Software 26 graphic, a detail discovered by Aaron Perris on X. This addition fuels speculation that Apple had originally intended to introduce the device last year.
