BN akan beri jawatan Adun lantikan kepada PAS, dakwa pengerusi DAP Melaka

DAP Melaka chairman Khoo Poay Tiong claims that the Barisan Nasional (BN) will appoint a PAS representative as the BN's nominee for the Melaka state legislature if the BN-Pakatan Nasional (PN) coalition wins the PRN Melaka election on November 14. As a member of the Parliament for Kota Melaka, Khoo believes that PAS would not be content with just being granted two seats in the PRN Melaka, even if the Islamic party wins both.

He accuses BN President Ab Rauf Yusoh of using the seven nominee seats as leverage, offering them to the MCA after the party challenged the distribution of seats in the first round. According to Khoo, Rauf has reportedly promised two of the seven nominee seats to MCA. Pakatan Harapan (PH) has withdrawn from the Melaka state government led by BN following the approval of constitutional amendments allowing the nomination of up to seven un-elected MPs through the electoral process.

PH argues that this amendment contradicts the principle of democracy, even though Sabah, Terengganu, and Pahang also approved the nomination. Before this, Rauf had defended this step by stating that the relevant seats would be given to experts and professionals. The BN is contesting 23 seats in the PRN Melaka under the PN coalition, which is also contesting the remaining five seats.
