The presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, Dr Peter Agada, urged Nigerian professionals living in the United States to return home and contribute to national development. He blamed the government for failing to develop a plan to attract skilled Nigerians back to Nigeria, describing the situation as a national embarrassment.
Agada expressed concern over the US government's tightening immigration policies, which were pushing skilled Nigerians out of the country. He urged these professionals to plan their return, emphasizing that their expertise was needed at the grassroots level.
