Sacramento Kings source shares whether Doug Christie will now be fired after 0-5 start
The Sacramento Kings have had a dreadful start to the new season, losing each of their first five games. It was always going to be a difficult start for the Kings because of the absence of several key players, but such a poor start has led to calls from many fans for a change of head coach.
The Sacramento Kings have endured a challenging start to their new season, suffering losses in each of their first five games. This poor performance has prompted calls from fans for a change in head coach, however, Doug Christie's position remains secure for now. Initial rumors suggested that Christie's job was in jeopardy, but a Kings team source has confirmed to The Athletic that he will remain in charge.
The report indicates that there is an internal belief that Christie deserves a chance to be evaluated in light of the team's much improved health. Several key players are currently sidelined, with Ben Simmons out for the season due to an Achilles tendon tear. While Christie's fate may change if the Kings continue to lose, as of now, there are no plans to part ways with the coach.
The team faces tough matches against the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks, and their decision on Christie's future may hinge on their results in these games.
