Patrick Kane Learned How Detroit Still Feels About Him

Patrick Kane returned to Detroit on October 30, 2026, for a game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena. The two families, Patrick Kane's and Alex DeBrincat's, have been friends since Kane's time with both teams. DeBrincat, who played with Kane in both Chicago and Detroit from 2017-2026, expressed his appreciation for Kane's return, stating that it was always good to see him and that he was a significant part of their team during their time together.

The Red Wings honored Kane with a standing ovation during the first period, and the arena displayed a tribute video of his three seasons in Detroit. Following the game, DeBrincat commented on Kane's return, emphasizing Kane's importance and skill as a player. Despite Kane's move back to Chicago, the Red Wings displayed respect and appreciation for his past contributions to their organization.
