The Milwaukee Brewers triumphed over the Tampa Bay Rays in a five-game World Series, securing their championship title. The Rays, however, were left disappointed despite their impressive season. In a postgame interview, Rays manager Kevin Cash expressed gratitude for his team's efforts over the past seven months. Cash revealed that he communicated the message of appreciation to his players after the loss.
"How incredibly grateful we are for what they did for the last seven months. It's a special group. We came up short. Congrats to the Brewers and the entire organization," Cash commented. The Rays' struggles on the mound, particularly with pitchers Nick Martinez, Drew Rasmussen, and Freddy Peralta, contributed to their downfall. The team managed to avoid a sweep by winning Game 4, but Milwaukee ultimately clinched the championship in Game 5.
Despite the loss, the Rays ended their postseason absence and captured the AL East title for the first time since 2021.
