HomeView Software 27.2: Wallpapers, Control Center, and More

Apple has released HomeView Software 27.2, the software that will power the upcoming HomeView device set to launch on November 13. The early software release showcases several features including wallpapers, face editing, a Control Center, and a new launcher called BreadBoard.

The HomeView comes with 20 default wallpapers in various colors, and users will also have the option to set their own photo wallpapers. Facial recognition technology will be used to determine which wallpaper to display on the Home Screen. A virtualized version of the face editing UI was shared by Guilherme Rambo.

Upon startup, the HomeView will display the familiar "Hello" text. The device will also offer Light Mode and Dark Mode options, switching between modes automatically based on the time of day.

HomeView will feature a Control Center, similar to the one found on iPhones and iPads. Additionally, there are Snoopy animations available for the Snoopy face option. The launcher, named BreadBoard, is a departure from iOS's SpringBoard, with the Control Center UI referred to as CupBoard.

Interestingly, iOS 26 hides a graphic of HomeView Software 26 within the update, suggesting Apple initially intended to release the HomeView earlier but had to postpone due to Siri AI development. The HomeView is priced at $299 and will be available for pre-order on Apple's website, alongside the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, both launching on November 13.

The 1280×720 Lesson: Why a Zip Isn't Shippable Until It Has a Cover I zipped my first product and uploaded it. Then I looked at it in the store back end and felt something drop in my stomach.
