2027: Brazilian president’s victory should inspire Nigerians — LP

The Labour Party (LP) has encouraged Nigerians to back its candidates in the 2027 general elections, drawing inspiration from Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s re-election in 2026. LP National Publicity Secretary Ken Asogwa lauded Lula for securing 51.79% of valid votes in Brazil’s presidential run-off, defeating challenger Flávio Bolsonaro.

Asogwa highlighted the shared ideological similarities between the Labour Party and Brazil’s Workers’ Party, both committed to social democracy. Asogwa urged Nigerians to emulate Brazil’s electoral experience, urging them to vote for Labour Party candidates in all elective positions during the upcoming general elections. He cited the Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s administration as proof of the Labour Party’s ability to lead and address the needs of Nigerians, emphasizing the party's focus on citizen welfare, social justice, economic inclusion, and equitable development.
