Zahid to discuss with Petronas its continued role as MotoGP’s main sponsor

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proposed discussing Petronas' continued involvement as the main sponsor of MotoGP with the company's CEO, Tengku Muhammad Taufik Aziz. During a meeting, MotoGP executive director Carmelo Ezpeleta expressed his hope that Petronas would remain a sponsor of the international motorcycle racing championship.

Carmelo presented Petronas with the opportunity to continue its involvement as a sponsor for the final year of its involvement. The Malaysian government aims to associate its name with Petronas and MotoGP. Zahid plans to meet Taufik to explore multiple alternative approaches to ensure Petronas maintains its position as MotoGP's main organiser and sponsor in the coming years, despite potentially high sponsorship costs.
