President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to embark on a journey to Saudi Arabia on Thursday to perform Umrah, a sacred Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah. Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced this in a statement on Wednesday, titled 'President Tinubu departs Abuja for Makkah to pray for the nation.'
The trip aims to provide the President with an opportunity for spiritual reflection and devotion, while also offering prayers for Nigeria's peace, unity, stability, and progress. During his visit to Makkah, Tinubu will carry out the religious rites of Umrah, seeking Allah's guidance and blessings for the nation and its people. Prior to leaving Abuja, Tinubu is set to commission several pieces of equipment procured by the Nigerian Air Force for their operations at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The President is projected to return to Nigeria next week following the completion of the spiritual exercise.
