Louisville basketball faced off against Mercyhurst in a dress rehearsal exhibition game at the KFC Yum Center tonight. This matchup will serve as a final opportunity for the Cardinals to fine-tune their strategies before official games begin. Mercyhurst, ranked 311th on KenPom.com, entered the 2026-27 season with a 17-17 record.
Their standout players, junior guard Jake Lemelman and senior guard/forward Tennessee Rainwater, earned preseason All-NEC first-team honors. Louisville coach Pat Kelsey's team will need to defend against Mercyhurst's strong ball movement and defensive plays, as they are known for their ability to execute off the ball screens, flex cuts, staggers, and pin-downs.
