Christian Horner, the former team principal of Red Bull Racing, recently sat down for an interview with 60 Minutes Australia to address past misconduct allegations. Despite being cleared of any wrongdoing by Red Bull GmbH in February 2024, Horner has chosen to speak out after 15 months of scrutiny.
In December 2023, a female employee filed a formal grievance against Horner, alleging inappropriate and controlling behavior. An independent investigation cleared Horner of wrongdoing in February 2024. However, an anonymous email containing 79 WhatsApp screenshots was leaked to journalists just 24 hours later, reigniting the controversy.
Horner remains adamant in his innocence, stating, "I deny any accusations that have been made against me." Following the appeal, Red Bull GmbH dismissed the allegations again in August 2024. When asked about any regrets, Horner remained resolute, saying, "I think probably enough has been written and said about it... for me it's about looking forward rather than backwards now. So no regrets."
Horner's high-profile marriage to former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, coupled with his public persona from the Netflix series Drive to Survive, may have contributed to the sensationalized media coverage of the incident. Despite the controversy, Horner and his wife have maintained a united front throughout the ordeal, with Horner walking hand-in-hand with Geri Halliwell down the paddock at the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix.
