Anggota maut kejar Pati, APMM buat siasatan dalaman

Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) announced they will conduct an internal investigation following the death of one of its members in a collision with a concrete structure near Kuala Perlis. The incident took place at around 11pm on Friday, killing Mohd Roshaimi Mohd Ridzuan, 41, and injuring three others. APMM Assistant Chief Officer Mohd Zawawi Abdullah stated that the investigation aims to identify any weaknesses or the need for SOP improvements while conducting operations.

He added that post-mortem investigations are carried out to determine possible areas for improvement, including training and necessary equipment for APMM members during operations. Zawawi assured that the incident will not shake the spirit of APMM members, but rather serve as motivation for them to continue their mission of safeguarding the country's waters.

The agency also pledged to provide support for Allahyarham Roshaimi's two children, who are still students, based on existing procedures. On the day of the incident, Mohd Roshaimi and three other APMM members were chasing a suspected illegal immigrant boat (Pati) when they collided with a concrete structure in the Kuala Sungai Padang waters.
