AC Milan vs Bologna – Predicted lineup and team news

AC Milan will face Bologna at the San Siro on Wednesday in an attempt to secure another crucial three points in Serie A under manager Ruben Amorim. The Italian club currently boasts an impressive record, achieving five wins and three draws from their first eight matches of the season. Their recent home win against Udinese on Sunday further highlights their strong domestic form.

However, they suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Europa League earlier this week, which has not dented their impressive home record this season.

Amorim faces a significant team news challenge ahead of tonight's match, as up to eight senior players might be unavailable or have fitness concerns. The most notable absence is Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is expected to be out for approximately a month due to a thigh injury sustained in a previous game. Samuel Chukwueze, Mattia Gabbia, Alexis Saelemaekers, and Filippo Terracciano also join Loftus-Cheek on the sidelines.

Additionally, Adrien Rabiot, Diego Moreira, and Mario Gila are dealing with fitness issues after sitting out the weekend match.

Given a crucial derby against Inter Milan scheduled for Saturday, Amorim might need to carefully manage the workload of the players available. Luka Modrić is expected to start the game as a substitute, while Christian Pulisic might also feature sparingly. Younger player Alphadjo Cissé is anticipated to be brought into the starting lineup in an attacking role behind Gonçalo Ramos, potentially altering Milan's usual formation significantly.

The match is set to commence at 5:30pm BST on Wednesday, October 28th, and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1. Subscribers can also catch the game through the Discovery+ app.
