2027: Why Ogoni people will vote massively for Tinubu — Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that the Ogoni people of Rivers State will likely vote overwhelmingly for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He cited the establishment of the Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland, a project instigated by the late Senator Barry Mpigi, as a key reason.

Wike highlighted that the university would create employment, stimulate commerce, and boost development in the region. He urged residents to support Tinubu's re-election by recognizing the long-term benefits of the institution. Wike also called for the political leaders of Tai Local Government Area to mobilize support for Tinubu and other Rainbow Coalition candidates, aiming for a 70% vote share.

He emphasized that the university's impact would become more evident over the next few years, and urged residents not to underestimate its significance. Wike also welcomed the return of political associates to the Rainbow Coalition, stressing the importance of unity ahead of the elections.
